I’ve created this Mother’s Day Gift Guide of 2022 so you can finally win the title of favorite child. You’re welcome!
Why are moms so hard to shop for? To be fair, I don’t think its our fault. For my first mother’s day ever, I asked for some things for my daughter. WHAT!?
But this year: no, no, no. I’ve got a wish list and I’m telling anyone who will listen. I’ve scoured the web for the best gift ideas for mom and I’m serving this dish HOT. Just to cover all bases, I’m building on each gift idea to make it a full favorite-child-winning experience. Hide this mother’s day gift guide from your siblings, or collaborate to really knock it out of the park. And just a friendly reminder: Mother’s Day is May 8th, 2022. Time to get shopping!
For the Wine Aficionado
Wine Club – I know these have been around for a minute, but YOU GUYS. This is so cool. You take a quickie quiz to determine what kind of wines you (or mom) prefer, and based on your answers they hand select 6 bottles from amazing regions all over the world for you! The best part is your first box of 6 wines rings in at under $40. Even if Mom doesn’t love wine you can get this and give individual bottles to other moms in your life, or… keep them for yourself. I won’t tell. If you’re on the fence, you can read my review here.
Bonus Gift: Take it one step further and get her this wine thermos that will keep her wine cool for hours. It comes in a ton of colors but I’m a BIG fan of the Glitter Merlot color. Present the whole set up in a basket and bam: amazing, thoughtful gift!
For the Gardening Buff
Waterproof Gardening Shoe – I’m relatively new to the gardening world, but I now know how important it is to have a dedicated pair of gardening shoes. I just wore my sneakers last season and not only ruined them, but rolled my ankle at least a dozen times on tricky roots and bumps. These slip-ons are not only meant to get dirty, they have a serious tread to them. No more soggy feet on watering day! They also offer a clog for light duty days.
Bonus Gift: Again – seems obvious to me now, but having a Gardening Tool Bag is a seriously underrated accessory. Even watching my mom garden when I was younger, I remember she would just grab an arm-full of stuff at a time and lug it around the yard. This has a ton of pockets and you can fit a bucket in the middle for compost, weeding, planting, whatever. Also, a good set of Pruning Shears are a gardener’s best friend. Harvesting veggies, pruning flowers, these are my go-to tool in the garden.
Self-Watering Herb Garden – Is mom more of a windowsill gardener? This self watering herb container will help her *spice* up her dishes with fresh herbs at her fingertips! A perfect alternative for when gardening season is over, too.
For the New Mom
Plush Blanket – Ok hear me out. This is NOT a romantic gift, but she might fall in love with you anyway. When I was a new mom, I spent 85% of my day holding a baby. Between feeding, rocking, napping, changing; there was no hands free time. This gift is two fold – its amazing when you’re holding the baby and find yourself committed to your position for a while. Grab the blanket and hunker down with some Netflix. OR, when you get some precious hands free time you grab the blanket and fall asleep before baby needs you again. The bigger the blanket the better, I say. I like this style because it has some fleece lined options in addition to the already plush material. (This one has a pocket for your FEET)
Hydration Tracker – Probably the most important part of being a new mom is making sure mom is taken care of. This water bottle has a time table on it that reminds you when you need to drink more water. It has a loop for easy one-finger grabs and is nice to look at, too. Its amazing how easy it is to go a whole day without much food or water when you’re trying to keep baby happy.
Digital Photo Frame – For the picture obsessed mom (aka every mom). Load up this digital photo frame with endless snaps of her kids/grandkids/whoever so she can admire her family on a loop.
Mama Slippers – Slippers are such an underrated luxury item. I feel like every mom should have at least one pair of slippers, and these cutesy ones are the perfect budget-friendly gift. They come in a few different styles ( I love the tartan!) and the soles are memory foam for supreme comfort. Bonus Gift: Get her little ones matching slippers! Moms love a cute matching moment.
For the Active Mama
Heated Back Massager – So I actually bought this for my husband as a Christmas gift but let me tell you: this gift will instantly win you all the brownie points. Its heated, and small enough to use on different areas of your body. You can prop it on your desk chair for lower back, or recline with it for neck/shoulders/upper back. Can you tell we use it all the time? (Similar here and here)
Fitbit – I’ve been a dedicated Fitbit wearer since 2014 and these smart watches have come a loooong way. You can pay for your Starbucks from the watch! Wear it to bed to track your sleep habits (or lack of sleep for new moms 🥴) meditate with its guided breathing programs, and of course track all those kid chasing steps.
Go Pro – I think this was our best investment as parents. We captured our daughter’s first steps with our Go Pro, documented our first vacation as a family, her first big snow storm, the list goes on. This makes a great gift because its so small, waterproof, kid-proof, and has incredible video and sound quality. I also love that there’s an app that allows you to playback what you just recorded, download photos, and put music to your videos! I can’t wait to document more fun family moments with ours.
Bluetooth Speaker – I bring this all over the house. Doing the dishes? Speaker. Lounging on my back deck? Speaker. Folding endless laundry? Speaker. The battery life is great, and the brand is unbeatable. I link up my phone and in seconds can listen to anything I want!
For the Marie Kondo Wannabes
Food Storage Containers – This gift is an amazing idea because it doubles as an experience. These storage containers are great because they are uniform in style and come in tons of sizes. Stay with me and keep reading:
Spice Jars – I love these because they’re glass and have air tight bamboo lids to keep everything nice and fresh!
Custom Pantry Labels – Ok here’s where the gift starts to get good. These vinyl jar labels can be made to say just about anything. Does your mom have a tea obsession? Label each jar with a different tea blend. Loves to bake? Get all the different baking essentials labelled! They come in spice jar labels too, with almost any spice & herb you can think of!
Bonus Gift: Spend a day helping her load up all her new storage jars! She will love the new organization, but even more than that enjoy the time spent with her new favorite child.
Thank me later!
I hope my mother’s day gift guide has given you ample inspiration for an epic gift because she seriously earned it. Its going to be a tough choice, but let me know which style gift you ended up picking in the comments! Congrats on winning favorite child 😉
