You’re reading the third and final post about my entryway makeover! The grand reveal is finally here. If you need to catch up, check out part one and two first.

    A Quick Refresher

    before the wainscotting was finished
a distant view of the entryway before

The formal entry to our home is super small. So small, in fact, that I like to pretend its not even there. Recently I decided it was time to address the space and make it inviting, if only for show.

The first thing I did was add some wainscotting to give the walls some personality and break up the whiteness of it. If you read the post about it, you’ll remember I used leftover paint and wainscotting from other projects, so the whole thing cost $0 to do. Just some elbow grease and a few hours.

That one change made such a drastic difference, but now it needed some décor to really finish off the space. I made this amazing DIY tassel wall hanging and hung it on the wall facing the living room. You can see it from all the main spaces in the house and it is so nice to look at. There’s just something about a successful DIY project that really sparks joy deep in my bones.

    Some Final Touches

The wall opposite needed *something*. The door opens to that wall, so because its the very first/last thing you see before coming or going, I thought a mirror would be the best choice. I didn’t really have anything that would fill the space nicely, and I didn’t really want to spend much money on one. I was at Goodwill making a donation when I decided to browse on a whim, and would you believe I found a huge oval mirror for $15!? It was meant to be.

I took it home, wiped it down, and used my trusty rub n’ buff to freshen it up a bit. What a gem! Thrifting grosses out the clean freak in me, but every once in a while I find something that totally changes my mind (briefly).

Lastly, I found a gorgeous Crate & Barrel frame that was gifted to me a few years back and hung that over the tapestry. Full disclosure: I plan on adding some family photos to it but out of respect for their privacy I subbed in some fun abstract art for this post.

The flush mount light was a surprising (and VERY affordable) find and the door mat is from Homegoods (here’s a super cute alternative)

    Et Voila!

    finished entryway makeover

I am just tickled by the results of this mini entryway makeover! Do I still wish I had some grand entryway to walk in to with a long, elegant staircase and giant table floating right in the middle? Yeah. But does this suit our needs well and totally make the space feel like a lovely addition to the living room? Also yeah. For such a tiny space I really think I maxed out the style potential and absolutely love when it catches my attention now.

Did this inspire you to refresh a tiny space in your home? Tell me about it in the comments!
